At 10:06 a.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service released a special weather statement until noon for Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon.
"West to southwest winds of 25-35 mph accompanied by gusts of 35-45 mph are expected to continue through morning, including along Interstate 84 between Pendleton and Hermiston. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution," states the weather service.
