Description

It’s easy to think of a district conference as something we should attend. It’s on the calendar. It’s part of Rotary tradition. It’s what we’ve always done.
But this year’s District Conference — May 15–17 in Eugene at the Valley River Inn — is about something deeper than tradition. It’s about reconnecting with why we do what we do as Rotarians.
Across our clubs, many of us are carrying full plates. Leadership roles feel heavier. Expectations feel higher. And yet, the need for connection, perspective, and inspiration has never been greater. When we pause long enough to gather together, something powerful happens — we remember that we are not doing this work alone.
Why Gathering Matters
A district conference creates space that we rarely give ourselves:
• Space to step out of the weekly rhythm and see the bigger picture
• Space to learn from one another across clubs and communities
• Space to reconnect with the purpose that first drew us to Rotary
When Rotarians come together, ideas spark. Energy builds. New possibilities emerge. It’s a chance to lift our eyes from the details and remember the impact we can create when we move forward together.
This year’s conference is being designed intentionally — not as a weekend filled with meetings, but as an experience that blends learning, fellowship, inspiration, and meaningful conversation. You’ll leave with fresh perspective, renewed motivation, and ideas you can bring back to your club immediately.
Most importantly, you’ll leave reminded of something we sometimes forget in the busyness of service: Rotary works best when we connect — with each other and with our shared purpose.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about what’s planned for the weekend, the experience you can expect, and the many ways this conference is being shaped with you in mind.
For now, consider this your invitation to begin thinking about May — and the value of stepping away briefly, so you can return stronger.
We look forward to gathering with you in Eugene.
