Description

In the wake of Goonies Weekend in Astoria earlier this month and ahead of “Stand By Me” Day next month in Brownsville next month, we wanted to give some specific numbers of the value of Film Tourism in Oregon.
$151M.
That’s the annual additional economic activity that is generated throughout the state just by Film Tourism. When you add in the additional direct economic spending from film and media production each year that number exceeds $350M on an annual basis. In fact the total economic contribution of the film and media industry to Oregon’s economy is $2.5Bn.
And film tourism is an annuity that continues on each year bringing people to places like Klamath Falls, Burns, Joseph and to the newest sign on @oregonfilmtrail in Dallas.
So take a hike, walk the trail, make a road trip, discover new places and new people and experience your favorite #OregonMade project in a while new way @oregonfilmtrail
