A wildfire that started Wednesday afternoon near Rowena, Oregon, has closed Interstate 84 between Mosier and The Dalles.
The Wasco County Sheriff’s Office has issued Level 3 (Go Now!) evacuations for Rowena River Ferry Road.
Level 2 (Be Set) evacuations are in place from 5500 Highway 30 to Discovery Road.

Officials with the Oregon Department of Transportation said just after 2 p.m. that I-84 was closed in both directions between mileposts 64 and 82.
Drivers were urged to find alternate routes if possible.

According to the Columbia Gorge Wildland and Fire Information Page, the Rowena Fire is estimated to be about 5 acres. Officials are asking people to avoid the area.
