09/01/26 - LCSO Recognizes Police K9 Day and our Incredible Animal Partners September 1st is recognized as National Police Canine Day. Today is set aside to honor K9’s and their handlers for the unique services they provide. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has K9’s specializing in detection, apprehension, rescue and emotional support. Each discipline requires lengthy training and dedicated handler investment to make each partnership possible. We recognize that service.
