DEQ release - The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory Friday, July 17, 2026, for Jackson, Klamath, Baker, Grant, Wallowa, Wheeler, Northern Lake and Northern Harney counties due to smoke from fires across Oregon, including the East Evans Creek Fire in Southern Oregon. DEQ expects the air quality advisory to last until at least Monday afternoon, July 20, 2026. DEQ and partner agencies will continue to monitor smoke in the area. DEQ expects intermittent smoke in Umatilla, Union, Crook, Gilliam and Deschutes counties. Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on weather.
