August is here and the Coos Bay Public Library has plenty of activities to get the most out of your last days of summer.  
  
This weekend, August 2 & 3 the Friends of the Library will be hosting their monthly book sale. Come take a look and add to your library!  
  
On Monday, Aug 4 from 6-8 p.m. the Open Men’s Group will be meeting in the Cedar Room. Come and enjoy conversation and snacks with a group of brothers and gain tools to live your best life.  
  
On Tuesday the Library will host story time. From 10-10:30 a.m. infants and toddlers are invited (with their caregivers) to enjoy baby story time.  
  
Also on Tuesday, kids and tweens are invited to join Book Explorers from 2-3 p.m. to enjoy and discuss the book Sasquatch Escape while enjoying sasquatch snacks and a search for sasquatch in the Library.  
  
Wednesday toddlers and preschoolers (with their caregivers) are invited to Toddler Storytime from 10-10:30 a.m. Sing, read, and play in this fun and interactive story time.  
  
From 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday come and enjoy painting miniature D&D characters. Bring your miniature to life. Miniatures and paints provided, registration is required.  
  
If you are looking for something to do on Wednesday night, Movie Night at the Library will be taking place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tween, teens, and adults are invited to enjoy free popcorn and beverages while watching Josie and the Pussycats starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Reid, and Rosario Dawson. Rated PG-13.   
  
On Thursday from 6-7 p.m. Creature Teachers will be at the Library. Kids from toddler to school age are invited to come and learn about the wonderful world of animals. Creature Teachers will bring seven to ten animals and talk about them followed by a meet and greet!  
  
Don’t forget the Library is out in the community every Friday morning! From 9-9:30 a.m. our van is parked at the fire station in Eastside and from 10-10:30 a.m. it is parked at the fire station in Empire. Drop off your checked out books with us and we will bring them back to the Library for you. Plus, we give away free books every week - so come check out what we have to offer!
