Case Update: Arrest made. Child located safely.
On May 24, a vehicle was stolen from a convenience store parking lot on SE Maple Street with a 7-month-old child inside. Officers identified 35-year-old Joshua Dean Rose as the suspect and initiated a large-scale search. The child was located safely at a restaurant near NW Cornell Road and NW 185th Avenue, unharmed. The vehicle was found abandoned nearby.
On May 26, Rose was taken into custody with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff's Office. He faces charges of Kidnapping in the Second Degree and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
We want to thank the community members who called in suspicious circumstances related to this case. We also appreciate the Washington County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in taking Rose into custody.
