Penny Road Blockage, Coos Bay

CCSO release - On June 24, 2025, Deputy Z. Smith tackled complaints about blocked roadways and debris on Penny Road in Coos Bay. One motorhome was towed to clear the area. During the investigation, Deputy Smith recovered a stolen Honda motorcycle, which was returned to its owner with help from Mast Brothers Towing. While on scene, 33-year-old Anthony Williams was identified as having an active warrant. He was arrested, booked, and lodged at Coos County Jail.

Convicted Sex-Offender Arrested for Failure to Register

CCSO release - On June 23, 2025, at approximately 12:20 PM, Deputy Z. Smith observed a red 2004 Ford Focus commit a traffic violation near Libby Lane and Shinglehouse Road. A traffic stop was conducted near Southwest Blvd and Pennsylvania Road in Coos Bay. The driver, identified as Dennis Steinhoff (64), was found to be non-compliant with his mandated sex offender registration due to a prior conviction. Deputy Smith took Steinhoff into custody and transported him to Coos County Jail for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Following a thorough check, jail staff determined Steinhoff was to be released in compliance with SB 48, as no overriding factors were present.
