Congratulations to our TIP award Winners!   
  
On Saturday, May 2nd several Lane County Sheriff’s deputies received “Heroes with Heart” awards at the 2026 fundraiser for Trauma Intervention Program of Lane County (TIP).     
  
Other first responders were recognized at the event as well, for all their work on especially traumatic events they responded to. The award recipients were nominated by TIP volunteers. The deputies recognized (from left to right):   
  
 - Deputy Hearn   
  
 - Deputy Grotefend   
  
 - Deputy Brooks   
  
Sergeant Lane was also recognized.     
  
TIP of Lane County started in 2023 to serve the Eugene and Springfield areas. Tip provides immediate emotional first aid and practical support to survivors of tragedy, in coordination with deputies, police officers, and emergency medical services. Their dedicated volunteers bridge the gap - often at the scene of a traumatic incident - until survivors can rely on their own support systems.
