Description

Hillsboro has more than 430 acres of data centers. Some political candidates in Washington County want an indefinite moratorium on new ones. Similar debates are playing out elsewhere in Oregon.

The mammoth data halls rising out of the ground all across Oregon are intruding into this spring’s election cycle as candidates decry tech companies’ prodigious consumption of water, power and land.
