Description

A lot where a developer had planned to build new apartments sits empty at 1336 E. Burnside St. in Portland, February 25, 2026. Portland permitted the fewest homes last year since just after the Great Recession.

There was a note of hope when a builder applied last spring to construct some 150 apartments at Southeast 14th Avenue and Burnside Street.
