In 1982, she met Sister Carol Tierheimer and they married on August 5, 2020 living 40 profound loving and adventurous years together in and OUT of the convent. Carol died in January 2022. In March of 2023 Joanie published her best selling Amazon Ebook, ‘Nun Better: An Amazing Love Story’ about their struggles and joys as LGBTQ+ and spiritual women. 🎉🏈 A huge thank you to the Marshfield High School ASB for organizing an incredible assembly yesterday to pump up our Pirates before the big home game against South Umpqua! The energy was contagious, and it really fired up our team and fans alike. What a game! It was a nail-biter, but our Pirates pulled off an amazing victory — going for two in the fourth quarter to win 8-7. The student section, band, dance team, and cheer squad did an **outstanding job** boosting team spirit and giving us that true home field advantage with their energy and cheers.
