Description
Meet Reserve Officer Pete Allenbaugh.
Pete has served with the Hillsboro Police Department for nearly 20 years. As a reserve officer, he helps take pressure off the call load, often freeing up a full time officer for another call while he handles things like traffic control or a roadway hazard. And when a major incident comes in, a reserve is sometimes the closest one there, so Pete stays ready to respond to just about anything a full time officer would.
Thinking about a career in law enforcement, either as a full time or reserve officer? The best way to see what it is really like is to come see it for yourself. Schedule a ride-along and spend a few hours out on a shift with one of our officers. You will get a firsthand look at the work, and a chance to ask all the questions you have.
Questions about recruitment, the process, or setting up a ride-along? Reach out to our reserve coordinator, Kevin Moore, at [email protected].
