West Linn's Tayanah Balensifer was victorious in the pole vault — her main event — and the 300 hurdles — her new event — at the 6A girls track and field state championships.

EUGENE — Two years ago, after Tayanah Balensifer won the 1A pole vault state title for Damascus Christian, she decided to challenge herself by transferring to West Linn.
