Notice of Lockdown
At approximately 4:03 PM today, Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Reedsport Police notified the district of a man carrying a firearm and walking on Longwood Avenue from the area of Reedsport Community Charter School toward the area of Highland Elementary School. As a precaution, all district buildings were placed on Lockdown status as per the Standard Response Protocol.
The lockdown was lifted at 4:13 PM following police guidance. At the time, school had already been dismissed and buses had left campus. During the lockdown, buildings were secured with doors locked, lights off, and individuals remaining out of sight until the all-clear was given.
We appreciate the quick response and support of local law enforcement, which helped ensure the safety of our students and staff.
