On April 23, our Code Compliance team responded to a call that turned into a moment of care and teamwork.

Near Highway 26 and Helvetia Road, they located an injured hawk grounded and vulnerable. With patience and coordination, officers safely captured the bird using a large net and kept it secure until help arrived. A partner from Bird Alliance of Oregon took custody of the hawk and will work toward possible rehabilitation.

Not every call fits neatly into a category. Sometimes it just means doing what’s needed in the moment.
