Description

Thursday, February 19th at 7 am (yawn!) I was greeted by a light-filled space with Rotary branding along the front. The club has a lease agreement and the space is big enough for their meetings and to stage all their annual auction donations!
They started the meeting with a report from the FFA Students, so the kids could get to school. 60% of the freshmen class are in FFA and they focus on public speaking skills and parlimentary procedure.
This 32 member Sutherlin club hosts an annual fundraiser, raising over $100,000 a year for scholarships! They will facilitate a breakout session at the District Conference in May about how they do that! Don’t miss it.
After the meeting, a few of us stayed to discuss the club goals, and enter them into the MyRotary page. They’re well on their way to their membership goal!
After that, AG Scott Hendy took me on a private tour of Wildlife Safari. His experience as a veterinarian there gave me a unique perspective of how this place works.
