Customers dine at Stoopid Burger, which opened in the Lloyd Center about five months ago, in the space that used to hold Billy Heartbeats, a 1950s style diner that closed in 2016. The building is in the midst of being demolished for a new concert venue, but the rest of the mall remains intact and open. The Lloyd Center has 90 tenants, including about 60 independent retailers, nonprofits or activity spaces open to the public. The Lloyd Center ice rink remains the major draw to the Northeast Portland mall. The mall's current owners have pledged to preserve the ice rink, or some form of it, after the rest of the mall is demolished. Pumpkin the tortoise, who lives at Secondhand Pet Supply, is a mall regular at the Lloyd Center. More adoptable mice await their new home at Startropics Pinball Museum at the Lloyd Center. The mice are former research animals available for adoption through the Washington Adoption Center for Retired Research Animals The Lloyd Center still has an open Hot Topic. Art figures for sale inside Floating World Comics at the Lloyd Center. Irene González makes tamales at the Mexican food stand, La Korita, she opened at the Lloyd Center last December. Former research animals are available for adoption at the Lloyd Center at Secondhand Pet Supply, via the nonprofit Washington Adoption Center for Retired Research Animals. Jennifer “Chickpea” Ottenberg runs Skate Oregon School in the old Finish Line. Customers get their hair done at Jayah Rose Salon inside the Lloyd Center. The mall still has 90 active tenants, according to its owners. Comic book publisher Floating World Comics was among the first wave of new tenants to move into the Lloyd Center about two years ago. Brickdiculous sells LEGO kits and offers youth summer programs at the Lloyd Center. Customers browse the selection of light sabers at Docking Bay 45, an immersive Star Wars shopping experience located by the Lloyd Center ice rink. Flyers advertising upcoming Mall Crawl events put on by tenants at Lloyd Center mall.
