Portland Mayor Keith Wilson at CityTeam in Northwest Portland on Nov. 19, just days before his self-imposed Dec. 1 deadline to open 1,500 shelter beds.

Portland Mayor Keith Wilson announced Monday that he had successfully set up 1,566 new shelter beds, hitting his target by the Dec. 1 deadline he’d promised during his campaign.
