Act-On Software’s plan to sell the Portland business to a company near Seattle has fallen apart. The Portland company will receive a $1.4 million breakup fee.
Marketing software company Banzai International announced in January that it had a deal to buy Act-On for $20 million in cash plus $33 million in Banzai stock. The deal fell through after Banzai failed to come up with the money to close the deal, according to a letter Act-On CEO Kate Johnson sent to Banzai on June 6.
