A 1.9-magnitude earthquake was recorded near the southern end of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast, Thursday, Aug. 27. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located west to southwest of Petrolia, CA, near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. There was also a 2.0-magnitude quake recorded on the Northern Oregon Coast, just west of Oceanside. The report also included an explosion northwest of Oakland in Douglas Co. that measured 1.5, and another one, 1.4, north to northwest of Madras.
