To those who believe re-electing Gov. Tina Kotek is a vote against President Donald Trump’s policies, here are a few facts and questions to consider. First, Trump will only be president for two more years and will likely be frustrated by a politically divided Congress, or one dominated by Democrats. Next, the governorship lasts for four years. Think about what four more years of a governor who prioritizes her union constituencies and special interests — without considering the long-term consequences — will look like. How will our students, our city and county budgets, our high rate of taxes and fees and our mentally ill and homeless populations be affected by continuing the current leadership?
