The City of Hillsboro, Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, and project partners are celebrating a major achievement as South Hillsboro Fire Station 9 was recognized as one of the Daily Journal of Commerce's Top Projects of 2026.

The annual awards program recognizes outstanding construction projects across the Pacific Northwest for excellence in planning, design, innovation, construction quality, and community impact. The recognition highlights the collaboration and expertise that brought South Hillsboro Fire Station 9 from concept to completion.

Located in the South Hillsboro neighborhood, Fire Station 9 opened in January 2026 and serves as Hillsboro's newest fire station. The facility enhances emergency response capabilities for one of the city's fastest-growing areas while providing modern space for fire, rescue, emergency medical, and City operations.

The project was designed by Rice Fergus Miller, which served as both architect and interior designer. Engineering services were provided by AKS Engineering & Forestry and Interface Engineering. INLINE Construction served as general contractor and submitting company for the award.

The project team also included the City of Hillsboro Building Division, Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, the Hillsboro Police Department, Hillsboro Public Works, and the Oregon Department of Energy, along with dozens of subcontractors and specialty partners whose expertise contributed to the facility's success.

As the first City facility constructed in South Hillsboro, Fire Station 9 represents a long-term investment in public safety, community resilience, and sustainable growth. The project reflects Hillsboro's commitment to providing high-quality public services while supporting a safe, connected, and growing community.

The City of Hillsboro and Hillsboro Fire & Rescue thank the entire project team for helping deliver an award-winning facility that will serve the community for generations to come.
