Southwestern Oregon’s baseball got swept at home Saturday, May2, by second-place Umpqua (20-12, 23-19), 7-5 & 7-1 in an NWAC Southern Conference doubleheader on the Coos Bay campus. The Lakers (17-14, 23-19), in third-place are scheduled to host fourth-place Chemeketa (17-15, 25-18), Friday, May 9, 1 & 4 p.m. Linn-Benton leads the South (23-9, 27-9-1) with four-games to go in the regular season. SWOCC’s softball team (19-7, 33-9) is tied for second-place in the NWAC South with Mt. Hood (19-7, 32-8) after sweeping two games at Chemeketa, Salem, Friday, May 2, 10-1 & 12-2, with four-games remaining. Southwestern is scheduled to play at fifth-place Clark College (8-16, 12-26), Vancouver, WA, Tuesday, May 6, 3 & 5 p.m. Lower Columbia leads the South with a perfect record (26-0, 39-0).
