TIAWNA GRAHAM TAKES OATH OF OFFICE On September 2, Coos Bay Police Dept welcomed Tiawna Graham to the North Coos 911 Dispatch Team. Tiawna took her Oath of Office and is beginning her career as a 911 Dispatcher. Tiawna is a 2015 graduate from Coos Bay and attended SWOCC for 2 years working towards an associate’s degree in criminal justice. Although Tiawna is coming in as an entry level dispatcher she is bringing with her a variety of professional experiences and skills. She is committed to helping others, through customer services, team leadership, and volunteer work. She looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of the community. Please join us in welcoming Tiawna to the Coos Bay Police Dept / North Coos 911 family.

MAKE NEW FRIENDS AT THE COOS BAY PUBLIC LIBRARY The staff at the Coos Bay Public Library know how challenging it can be to make new friends once you’re an adult. One way to meet new people with similar interests is to come to Library programs! For men, we have a weekly group that meets every Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. to hang out, eat some snacks and discuss life. This coming Monday September 8, the group will be holding an open house from 5-8 p.m. with pizza and drinks so that men aged 18 and up can see what the group is all about! If a men’s group isn’t what you are looking for how about learning a new game? Tuesday from 4-5:30 p.m. we will be hosting a program where anyone can learn to play Magic the Gathering. Bring some magic to your life with this fun game. Still not sure? What about some exercise at the community Zumba class on Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m.? Teens and adults are welcome to join this beginner friendly class and dance to Latin and world music beats in a fun, non-judgmental atmosphere. If none of these programs sound like your sort of class, check out our monthly calendar at coosbaylibrary.org. With programming nearly every day, you are sure to find something that piques your interest!
