Description
TRAFFIC SAFETY MISSION
On August 5th, HPD will be hosting a multi-agency traffic enforcement mission throughout the city. The mission’s focus will be on collision-causing behaviors such as speeding, distracted driving, and failing to obey traffic control devices. Please remember to “move over” for officers while they are conducting traffic stops.
The Move Over Law (ORS 811.147) states that if you are approaching an emergency vehicle, tow truck or vehicle in distress which is stopped on the roadside with its hazard lights activated, you must move over into another available lane. If you can’t safely change lanes, you are required to reduce your speed at least 5 mph below the speed limit.
