WATER QUALITY'S MOST WANTED

Wipes, Fats, Oils and Grease cause problems every day in the City’s Sanitary Sewer System. You can help us by not putting them down the drain or flushing them.

WIPES: Even if the package says “flushable” DO NOT FLUSH! Wipes do not break down like toilet paper and can clog your pipes from your home to the City’s infrastructure. Once they enter the City’s infrastructure, they can clog large pipes and break large pumps causing costly repairs.

FATS OILS & GREASE (FOG): Be sure to destroy FOG by wiping dishes before turning the hot water on to get food debris off dishes. When FOG cools it solidifies and can clog your pipes from your home to the City’s infrastructure. Once in the City’s infrastructure FOG can cause sanitary sewer overflows into the streets of our town.
