We broke ground on the future home of the Hillsboro Police Department.

Surrounded by community members, city leaders, and the officers and staff who serve Hillsboro every day, we celebrated a milestone years in the making: the start of construction on our new headquarters. This building will give our team the space and resources to serve our growing community for decades to come.

It is also being built with the future in mind. The new headquarters uses mass timber construction, which stores carbon and reduces emissions compared to traditional materials. The wood used in the project accounts for an estimated total carbon benefit of about 1,581 metric tons of CO2. To put that in perspective, that is roughly equal to taking 334 cars off the road for a full year, or powering 167 homes for a year.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this project from vision to reality, and to the community we are proud to serve. This is just the beginning.
