  • Slow down. Drive, brake, and turn slowly. Slow down, increase your distance from the vehicle in front of you, and give yourself longer stopping distances.
  • Plan ahead. Check road conditions and plan your route.
  • Carry chains and an emergency kit. Fit chains to tires prior to a storm and carry them in your trunk.
  • Be aware. Look out for all road users, including bicyclists and pedestrians.
  • Turn your lights on to increase your visibility to other road users.
  • Do not pass snow plows or road treatment equipment.
