Description
A welfare check turned into a major drug bust.
At 1 a.m. on July 10, a concerned community member called in about someone slumped over in a vehicle near SW Baseline & SW Main. Officers arrived to check on the individual’s wellbeing and quickly noticed signs of drug impairment.
In plain view: narcotics and paraphernalia. After a vehicle search: a large stash of methamphetamine, fentanyl powder, packaging tools, over $1,500 cash, an automatic knife, and replica firearms.
Michael Owens, 36, was arrested for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapons.
